UNDER THE SURFACE OFF BYXELKROK
Along the northern coast of Öland lie traces of dramatic events, both above and beneath the water. Off Byxelkrok – and towards the legendary island Blå Jungfrun (the Blue Maiden) – lie shipwrecks that bear witness to the dangers of seafaring and the relentless power of the sea.
What was once a place of life and activity above the surface now rests in silence beneath the sea. What remains are silent yet eloquent reminders of the past.
