THE STEAM FERRY s/s OSCARSHAMN (1875-1877)

The steamship s/s Oscarshamn operated the Oskarshamn-Byxelkrok route between 1875 and 1877. The vessel also served as a tug, assisting  sailing ships entering Oskarshamn Harbour.

11 March 1875

Launched.

May 1875

Delivered by Oskarshamn Mekaniska Verkstad as Oscarshamn to Rederibolaget Oscarshamn. Entered service on the route Oskarshamn - Alvedsjöbodar - Byxelkrok - Visby. Also assisted incoming sailing ships into Oskarshamn Harbour.

10 April 1876

Following the winter lay-up, the vessel was reassigned to the routes Oskarshamn - Figeholm - Byxelkrok - Alvedsjöbodar - Påskallavik and Oskarshamn - Sandviken - Borgholm - Kalmar.

After 1877, s/s Oscarshamn no longer served Byxelkrok.

10 December 1927

The vessel was scrapped.
